Whether you have a dog that is in need of manners or you are considering buying or adopting a new canine member to your family, I can provide the help you need to make the right decision.
Picking a new dog or puppy to add to you family is always a fun experience. Sometimes though, just picking the cutest puppy can be a disaster later down the road. Puppies have a lot of personality at very young ages and many of their traits will show. Will they be fearful? Outgoing? Aggressive? Dominant? Easily trainable? When you are ready to start looking for that right dog, call me and we will arrange a time to discuss you needs, breed of dog, if a puppy or dog is right for your family, and basic care and training methods. I also work with many local pounds and Humane Society's and would be happy to help with your search for the right new member of your family.
Many problems arise with our animal companions and finding out why and how to resolve those issues is where I can help. Why does my dog jump on people when they walk in the front door and how do I get them to stop? Why does my dog tear up the couch and etc. when I am gone? I can't take my dog for walks because it barks at everthing going by? Why does my dog not listen to me? These are some of the questions people have asked me and yes, there is an answer and a resolution to each of these issues. Through positive reinforcement training both you and your canine partner can have fun and enjoy living together.
One on one training. A well behaved dog is a pleasure to have. You can take the dog with you to the park, family gatherings, or just lounge around the house. Obedience training doesn't have to be work! It can be a game and playing it should be fun! Walk your dog without it constantly pulling you. Often a dog has one master, but family dogs can have family masters. I will work with you and your family to teach every family member how to speak to the dog, why dogs act certain ways, basic dog obedience and how to approach strangers and will include games they can play with the dog.
Looking to get more out of you K9 partner? Does your dog have what it takes to help you find your kids if they are lost? Maybe you are just interested in a hobby for you and your K9. Tracking and trailing maybe for you. A fun day of "hide and seek" with your dog and kids is always a good day.
